I dropped into Venus Bay with no particular expectations and was immediately struck by the beauty of the place. The colour of the water had a few more shades of blue than even tropical Queensland. Before I continued my journey I thought I would do a lap around town and that’s when I came across the view shown on the left. Absolutely spectacular, especially when you havn’y seen an ocean swell for five months and you were expecting to see at best just another beach.
So onward past Murphys Haystack (maybe another day) and on to Walkers Rocks camp Ground.
This place is one of the best. Low fees, toilet, shower, privacy, convenience, walking, fishing, surfing, scenery. Should be worth a night or three.
