The second 5 Star dedicated free camping area on this stretch of the Bruce Highway run by the Cairns City Council. The first was Babinda just down the road.

This place is brand new and was built in response to locals complaining that free-loaders were ignoring the NO CAMPING signs erected there. Now camping is allowed and there are no free-loaders, only lots of genuine travellers stopping for a couple days to enjoy the area and spend money in the town. This stop is only 20km from Cairns city and very convenient as a overnight camp after a day in city.
