As they say in the movies “Here we are in NSW, catching fish as big as whales”. The was no drama crossing the state borders, lots of checking going on for people entering SA (I don’t know why) but in my direction nothing entering Victoria or NSW.
Back with another old friend, the Murrumbidgee River. From the days of Ag College at Wagga Wagga, being young, new experiences, making new friends, the ex-wife I met there.
This stretch of road was the scene of my first ‘freedom ride’ in 1973 driving my ’62 Bluebird Datsun headed for the exotic destination of Mildura. Escaping the mundane city life and seeing what else was out there. I have vivid memories of the locust plague at the time, they probably have not seen the like of it since.
