Daintree and Cape Tribulation were the second of four main destination planned for Qld. The others were Bowen, Cooktown, Normanton and Camooweal. I imagined Daintree village as a slightly larger place but it really is so small you can’t even buy groceries (or beer). I had to do a special trip back into Mossman for supplies. Its main claim to fame is as the base for several crocodile tour companies and as a gateway to the World Heritage Daintree National Park.
While driving from Cairns I was impressed by the very scenic Captain Cook Highway (the other Great Ocean Road) as well as the Mossman district and beach settlements near there (future real estate possibilities).
